I have a thing my husband really can't understand, where I love clothes that have different fabric on the inside of the pockets to the rest of the clothing - or a pretty pattern on the inside of a shoe, instead of just the usual black fabric. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm instantly drawn to them! It feels like a hidden extra; like there's more attention to detail when I see it, and let's be fair, I'm far more likely to buy that dress, or shoe, if it's there! (Clever designing!), and I think that's why I love envelope liners, too.
For those of you who aren't sure what the heck I'm talking about, envelope liners are pretty much what it says on the tin: a liner for the inside of an envelope. They are little inserts that cover up the triangular section of an opened envelope, and the area below that, inside the envelope. These pretty little extras are a lovely addition to an envelope, and if you are after having something extra special for your guests to open, they are perfect. They also make your envelope that little bit thicker, which makes them more luxurious to open.
What to have on an envelope liner
It’s a great idea to continue the design from your save the dates or invitations to your envelope liners. If you have a pattern that has been used, it is ideal to use or develop this, however, you could also think outside the box. Using the same colours, and fonts, if needed, you could have an illustration of your venue, your initials in a pretty crest or even your loyal furry friend could make an appearance!
All my house designs include the option of envelope liners, and bespoke orders can include them too.Â
What would you have on yours?Â
If this floats your boat, and you're excited about adding that little bit extra to your invitations or save the dates, get in touch, or arrange a stationery meeting to discuss a design that would work for you.
Have a great weekend!
