Perfect Picnic Pinks

Another highlight from the English Oak Vineyard open weekend that must be talked about is this beaut! Melissa Rose Design came to full creative genius yet again, a few weeks ago when we created this. Melissa first showed me the awesome tablecloth, seen in the photo above, and her vision for the flowers. Being the lovely lady she is, she left me to be creative with the menus.

I had been working on a lot of watercolour designs, and that encouraged me to work with this medium for the stationery. I decided to make a full sheet of washy watercolours, using the gorgeous bright tones within the tablecloth. Here's where I started -->

Isn't this lush?! The sheet was super wrinkly and as much as I would have loved to have printed directly onto it, I knew I would have ink splodges if I tried, so I scanned it into my computer and used lots of different sections of it to make the bright but minimalist place name cards that I did. This is the result. Less bright than I would have liked but still lush.

As you can see, I decided to put the place name card on a white menu for the highest contrast and made the typography clean, tidy and modern, which was a must given how busy the surrounding decoration was.

What's wonderful about this design, is that the pink place name can be made in so many different colourways. If this is inspiring you for your wedding, party or event, I would LOVE to chat more about it with you.

Here are some more photos from the display we made.
